Ken Potocky passed away at Burnaby General Hospital on Friday, 2026 June 19th , 2 ½ weeks after he was admitted, complaining of severe stomach cramps. He was diagnosed with a cancer that had metastasized to other organs and Ken chose not to have treatments.
Ken was a kind, caring, good-humoured, delightful member of the club. While a relatively new member of the club, joining in 2020 he played golf for years. His other love was snooker and Ken played and took an active role in that organization. He always said that snooker improved his putting but there was no proof of that! He loved to share stories and tell jokes. He always had a mischievous smile on his face.
Ken was born in New Westminster in February of 1943 and grew up in Queensborough. He was a broker with Canaccord for many years, only retiring at 75. Surviving Ken are his wife, Barbara, his brother Tim, his daughter Trica and granddaughter, Uma. He was predeceased by his sister, Sylvia.
