Ed loved golf and was an active playing member until 2010, volunteering regularly. Though no longer able to golf, he could still be found up at the club enjoying coffee with his friends on most Wednesdays. He got his only hole in one at Mylora Golf Course in Richmond. He was a dedicated volunteer for various LPGA, PGA and Champions Tour tournaments in the lower mainland.
Ed was also an avid curler with the Burnaby and Coquitlam Curling Clubs, and was an active executive member of the Vanburn Fastball League.
